On January 19-20, 2022, at the «Russian Research & Development Institute of Food Biotechnology» (VNIIPBT), the work of the tasting panel of the international tasting competition «EURASIA SPIRITS DRINKS» was once again held. Due to the high degree of trust and interest, this year the competition gathered even more participants and samples compared to the previous year.
The participants mainly consisted of manufacturers from Russia and neighboring countries. At the same time, the Competition received more geographic growth due to the applications for participation from manufacturers from Tajikistan and Latvia.

The work of the Supervisory Board is primarily aimed at ensuring greater transparency and objectivity in the work of the tasting panel. The members of the supervisory Board held a selective tasting of samples and compared their impressions with the assessments of these samples by the members of the tasting panel.
TheAward Ceremony for Laureates of the International Tasting Competition «EURASIA SPIRITS DRINKS» - 2022 was held on March 24, 2022. By tradition, the ceremony was held at the RAIKIN PLAZA HOTEL’s Congress Hall.
This year, the Award Ceremony has become, first of all, a place of communication for professionals of the industry. There were plenty of topics for conversation, as alcohol producers and vodka producers met on this site. And, most importantly, they could communicate with development specialists of the «Russian Research & Development Institute of Food Biotechnology» Apparently, a lot of questions for discussion have accumulated during the quarantine restrictions, so many participants were especially pleased not only with the gastronomic delights of the Award Ceremony, but with the opportunity to discuss many issues with their colleagues.
The communication between manufacturers and scientific community turned out to be very popular, so the hosts plan to further develop the possibility of direct communication between representatives of the industry.
In addition, manufacturers participating in the competition can form a visual objective assessment of the products of other plants and, thereby, compare the quality of their products with those of competitors. For this purpose, the Award Ceremony provides for tasting samples of alcoholic drinks that received gold medals and having the most interesting innovative taste characteristics, according to the members of the tasting panel. Due to the special categories «Eco-style» and «New Technology», it is also possible to learn about the events that manufacturers hold not only in Russia, but also abroad, to ensure the production of the highest quality and safe alcoholic drinks.
Thanks to participation in the competition, manufacturers can get information about the assortment of other manufacturers, about trends in technologies and innovative solutions in the development of alcoholic drinks formulations. In the future, the hosts of the competition plan to actively involve representatives of retail chains in such communication in order to familiarize them with the most interesting samples of alcoholic drinks.
